Bed & Breakfast

ALL OF THESE RECEIVE A 4 – 4 !/2 STAR RATING !!!! (It would take a lot more to do better!)

Don and I loved our stay at The Carroll House Bed & Breakfast in Bay St. Louis, MS. Jane evidently purchased the home after Hurricane Katrina and restored the home creating the cottage/home appeal that is more obvious once you are inside.

As for breakfasts, we especially liked the French Toast with the Orange Zest that Kevin made…awesome! Jane served up terrific pancakes and cinnamon syrup which Don and I both enjoyed. All is at the main dining table with our food offered on old floral china. Delightful!
The decorating of the rooms and the house itself is charming. Everything was really clean, comfortable, cozy, yet lends itself well to sharing with other fellow travelers. A great place to stay while visiting Bay St. Louis, MS!

The Magnolia House Bed & Breakfast in Magnolia Springs, AL is a super “favorite find” below Fairhope, AL. An old hotel that had reverted to home use, then purchased years later by David Worthington and lovingly restored is a visit unto itself. (This was our 2nd trip to stay!) David is a gourmet chef so you can count on totally amazing breakfasts and partner Eric sees that your rooms are spiffy and have chocolate each evening! They can recommend and arrange any local hikes or side-trips. They offer their own coffee cups and soaps for sale. I now own several! Resident cats stay in their own area and provide lots of fur fixes for those who love them like we do! Another great place to stay while traveling toward the Gulf Beaches and going through Alabama!!!

T’Frere’s (A Boutique Bed & Breakfast) in Lafayette, LA hosted us for a long weekend when Don and I visited son Kevin and wife Alise and grandchildren Spencer (7), and Natalie (4) for Grandparent’s Day!  T’Frere’s is a gorgeous 100 year old home/B&B that has new ownership/management and has it’s very own ghost story. I am a “sensitive” you might say, so if anything was out of the ordinary, I would have picked up on it. What I did “pick up” on was terrific cleanliness and decor as well as extraordinary friendliness of the staff and comfort for the guests. The breakfasts and atmosphere are as delightful as the hospitality!
